A trip to the Rosebud Dinner Theatre is scheduled for Friday, November 13, 2009. A fifty-six passenger bus has been booked with Carefree Express from Lethbridge. We will probably leave the church at 8:30 A.M., with the meal seating time scheduled for 12:00 noon at Rosebud, and the theatre production at 1:30 P.M. The cost will be approximately $ 64 per person, which includes the transportation, the delicious meal, and the theatre production of Christmas in Wales, by Sarah Rodgers & Denis Rodgers, from the Dylan Thomas story. Here is Rosebud’s description of Christmas in Wales: “An adult's warm remembrance of an old fashioned holiday: the time of presents, good things to eat and newly fallen snow. Spend a glorious Christmas day with Dylan and his family in their tiny seaside town. It's a wonderland of Welsh carols, splendid words and snowball mischief.” There will be some time to stroll around the picturesque hamlet of Rosebud, and to browse in the shops and museum. It should be a great day of fun and fellowship, and a time to get into the Christmas spirit. Please put your name on the sign-up sheet (foyer table) as soon as possible. Although it is some months away, arrangements with Rosebud Theatre and Carefree Express need to be finalized as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please speak to Pastor Jim.

In recent weeks there have been many reports of violence against Karen refugees on the border of Burma and Thailand. There was much fear that these refugees, most of them women and children living in camps in Thailand, would be repatriated to Burma. Praise God that the United Nations stepped in and granted these beleaguered Christians official refugee status so they cannot be forced back to Burma and certain death. Thank you for joining The Bible League of Canada in prayer for the Karen Christians. For additional information, please go to www.bibleleague.ca or call 1-800-363-9673.
THE CHURCH WITHOUT COMPROMISE: The pressures in our lives often require us to make decisions. Bad economies make difficult decisions about where to spend money necessary. Even ensuring survival after natural disasters brings difficult decisions. But do these decisions ever force you to make compromises? What does the Bible say about faith and compromise? Find out on the July12 Back to God Hour. Visit BacktoGodradio.net to find a station in your area or listen to a sermon. You can also download our podcast. No station in your area? Can’t listen on line? Call or email to request a CD to be sent to you.
THE STOWAWAY (PART 1): Scooter desperately wants to go along on the camping trip with all his friends, but his teacher says he’s too young to go. What if Scooter sneaks his way onto the bus? Nothing can go wrong, can it? Find out on this week’s Kids Corner. Then check out the Kids Corner website at www.kids-corner.org for stories, devotions, puzzles and more.
