What is Alpha For?
Alpha is for:
- Anyone interested in finding out more about the Christian faith. People of all ages (over 16) are welcome.
- Learning and laughter. It is possible to learn about the Christian faith and to have fun at the same time.
- Pasta and people. An opportunity to enjoy a meal while getting to know one anothers.
- Helping one another. The small groups give you a change to discuss issues raised during the video talks.
- Ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is seen as too simple or too hostile.
Who is Alpha For?
Alpha is for everyone! It's especially geared to:
- People who want to investigate Christianity.
- New Christians and church newcomers.
- Couples preparing for marriage.
- Those who want to brush up on the basics or want their faith to grow deeper.
- Those who have doubts and need encouragement.
- Those who enjoy a good meal and meaningful fellowship.
What happens at Alpha ?
The evening begins with a meal, followed by a video-talk on the following topics:
- Who is Jesus?
- Why did Jesus die?
- How can I be sure of my faith?
- Why and how should I read the Bible?
- Why and how do I pray?
- How does God guide us?
- What about the Holy Spirit?
- How can I overcome evil?
- Why and how do I tell others?
- Does God heal today?
- What about the Church?
- How can I make the most of the rest of my life?
After each video presentation, we move into small groups for discussion of the issues that have been raised.
